Cotton Referendum Sets Key Vote for Upland Quotas
Voters in Tayor County will decide if a national cotton marketing quota and price support levels for 1957 crop will apply. If two thirds approve, quotas and 75 to 90 percent price support kick in. if rejected, no quotas and 50 percent support. Voting runs 8 am to 7 pm at local ASC polling places.

21 500 Hungarians Find Refuge Here Under Ike Orders
Augusta Ga Dec 1 President Eisenhower ordered the admission of 21 500 Hungarian refugees from Soviet terror to the United States. The plan previously offered asylum to 5 000. The White House said the greater number would be brought here with the utmost practicable speed under an emergency program. Eisenhower will ask Congress in January to take longer range action.

Lunsford Youth Injured By Car Near Atlanta
Allan Lunsford, son of Julius Lunsford and grandson of Col J R Lunsford, was seriously injured Monday near Buckhead Atlanta when he stepped into the path of an oncoming car as his mother moved toward their parked vehicle. He suffered a fractured skull and remained unconscious Tuesday, with an operation planned in an Atlanta hospital.

Judge Hicks Fort retiring as Chattoahoochee Circuit Judge after 1942 appointment will be honored December 13 by attorneys in the area.
