Mauk Trustees Are Appointed

Judge C F McLaughlin appoints mayor J M Jinks and council members J Wilder J H Turner R D Waller and H W Wood as receivers of Mauk to run town affairs under court supervision. Bondholders seek to recover 2000 fallen to interest 7 percent on bonds issued 1915 for waterworks. Receivers to levy taxes to pay debts. dissolution after debts are settled.

Aged Charing Man Slugged and Robbed by Youth

Mr. S. I. Swearingen, a 58 year old railroad depot employee in Charing, was attacked about 7 30 PM Tuesday on his way home. He was struck with an axe handle, robbed of cash, and left unconscious. Police arrested June Green, a 20 year old Black man, who confessed. Swearingen was taken to his home then to Columbus hospital for observation. sheriff guards the jail as grand jury weighs action in April.

The Columbus post office lists approximate mailing dates for articles sent abroad and to U S possessions for Christmas. Pacific coast dispatches close December 5 for China and Japan, December 8 for New Zealand, December 14 for Hawaii. Marvin Brewer Dies in Florida Hospital at 51

News reaches the county of Marvin Brewer's death at 8 p.m. in St. Petersburg Florida City Hospital after a two week illness from apoplexy. He was a 12 year resident, former state highway employee, son of the late J B Brewer. Survived by wife five children and eight grandchildren. Funeral and interment will be in St Petersburg.

Methodist Pulpit Welcomes New Pastor Rev E A Martin

Rev. E. A. Martin arrived with his family from Pinehurst to lead the Butler circuit. He spoke at 11 o clock with special music by Mrs L R Adams. McChargue Victim Of Pneumonia At 36 In Rey nolds

Alfred T. McChargue, 36, native of Fulton County, died of pneumonia after a week-long illness at his Reynolds home. He worked in a local saw mill, leaves wife Evelym Perry McChargue and a family. Funeral and interment were at Pleasant Grove Garden Valley on November 20, with EB L Jenking officiating. Pallbearers included L L Minor and James Emmett. G H L Goddard in charge of arrangements.
