Mr George Russell Windham of Taylor county died at his Butler home early Monday. Born September 4 1863 to Jack and his wife he lived a long life as a prominent local figure. Funeral at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church four o clock Monday with Rev S H McCorkle presiding. Interment Bethel cemetery. Survived by brother Hon J J Windham of Butler and sister Mrs Mattie Watson of Jacksonville Florida.

A Georgia party led by A. EB Guinn of Butler and others departed Columbus July 28 to attend the seventh World Poultry Congress in Cleveland. The visit included a large White Holland and Mammoth Bronze turkey farm near Calhoun and tours of Norris Dam in Tennessee, with lectures on poultry nutrition disease marketing and products. Forty-two nations and 48 states were represented. daily attendance reached about 100000, surpassing expectations. The Georgia delegation also toured a Cosby Hodges plant in Birmingham on return. The event highlighted Denmark Netherlands and U.S. poultry output, described as a million dollar show and a payables industry.
