Garnet Alton Heath of this city in the 53rd Naval Construction Battalion has been moved to the Marshall Islands where his unit is preparing Bikini Atoll for the three atom bomb tests planned soon. Heath enlisted in the Naval Reserve on December 11, 1944, trained at Bainbridge and Providence, sailed from the Pacific April 15, 1945, and served at Pearl Harbor Guam and the Mariana Islands before this assignment.

Atlanta April 10 The Atlanta Tulip Show Association plans the first fully indoor tulip exhibition in the United States next weekend. Fifteen thousand bloom beds at Hart Park preview the 100 000 tulips on display with national editors and garden club officers attending. The effort by 15 local garden clubs plus 500 club women 7 500 schoolchildren and civic leaders aims to attract visitors from several states and feature 50 000 tickets.

Wallace Carson died Thursday afternoon at a Decatur Alabama hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Bartow Florida and served in the U S Navy during World War I. He worked in hotels in the South and at the Lyons Hotel in Decatur. Funeral services were at Butler Methodist Church with burial in the local cemetery. Survivors include his wife Betty Collier Carson two brothers Dan Carson and Bob Carson and a sister Mrs R R Dunwody. Several out of town relatives attended. Funeral Home of Butler handled arrangements.
