In Montezuma Georgia March 29 funeral services were held at Pleasant Grove cemetery for Mrs Georgia Aultman Harris 86 who died at her home Tuesday night March 26 after a recent fall breaking a collar bone. She was the widow of Greene Henry Harris. One hundred ten leaders from Georgia and Alabama gathered near Columbus on April 1 to form the Chattahoochee Valley chamber of commerce. Jas W. Woodruff elected president and Cason J. 4-H Garden Contest Captures 1934 Youth Interest
In 1934 four H Club members across Georgia entered a year round garden contest with 1165 participants growing spring and fall plots. Annie Moore of Floyd County, the state winner, harvested 6720 pounds of vegetables and earned 148.35 dollars profit from a total 7.60 cost, using 100 pounds Chilean nitrate. District prizes went to William Mitchell, Frances Chapman, Doris Ussery, Ruth Donaldson, Winifred Rogers, Opal Roberts, Willie Paulk, Louise Turner and others with a reward trip to the State Short in Athens in 1935.

Former Local Girl Injured in Upson County Crash
Miss Hazel Peterman of Thomaston sustained a fractured skull and other injuries in a Sunday night automobile wreck on No. 8 highway in Upson County. Her companion Marion Dean, 25, was killed instantly. Two other occupants were slightly injured. The car was demolished. Peterman is daughter of A P and Mrs Peterman, former county residents. Dean survived by parents John and Mrs. Dean and sisters Mary Jessie and Marie.

Riley Succeeds Perkins On Taylor County Board

Henry William Windham a respected Taylor County farmer died last Saturday at his Panhandle county home at age 75 after over a year of declining health. He was a Crowell Methodist member since early manhood. Funeral services were held at Crowell Church with Rev. J. N. Shell officiating. G. H. Goddard of Reynolds was in charge. Prominent Macon Man Found Shot Dead
Macon Ga April 3 Frank Smith Carmichael 47 former president of the old Georgia Wholesale Company and later with the Georgia Grocery Company was found shot dead Tuesday afternoon in his home. The time of the fatal shot was placed around 1 15 p m by the coroner Lester Chapman who said no inquest was planned. A pistol lay at the scene. Friends said Carmichael had been despondent due to ill health. his wife Ruth Adams has been ill in a Macon hospital for weeks.
