Niles guards and textile strike loom large at fair week

Private police hired by Niles Tool Works patrol streets with six dollar daily pay and lodging, while textile workers press their strike with support from Cincinnati unions. The Butler County Fair opens next Tuesday featuring Ruth Law, four daily races, and a big Red Cross day, plus a celebrated drill by Fort Bunyan’s Company E.

Textile workers in contempt proceedings at Linden mill

Contempt actions were filed by The Shuler & Benninghofen Co. against textile workers including Myrtle Hall and Thos E Regan alleging violation of a court injunction. Workers deny any breach and note protests at Pleasant and Williams avenues. Hearing set before Judge Clarence Murphy next Tuesday. defense by Harrie Wonnell.

Duty with knife and fork fuels national effort

Robert Fallert To Represent Clerks at Ohio State Federation of Labor

The Retail Clerks held a meeting in Trades Council hall. They continued publicity on McCrory stores on the unfair list and decided the local would be represented at the Ohio State Federation of Labor convention in Cincinnati the week of October 1. Robert Fallert was elected delegate and Henry B. Suedkamp as alternate.
