Library Campaign for Lane Free Library October Kickoff

The Boosters Club launches a money raising drive October 12 to fund a new Lane Free Library in Hamilton. Original goal $126,000 trimmed to $100,000, deemed sufficient by architect Geo Barkman, with completion aimed by September 1, 1920. Pledges in four installments starting November 1.

Delegates at a Cincinnati plant rally urged support for the labor fight against the Sam Joseph & Co. firm and its Rasola and 1122 cigar brands. They pledged to report the stance to all locals as part of the campaign.

Strike Continues At Hamilton Machine Tool Plant

The Hamilton Machine Tool strike remains unchanged with slug gers traveling in small groups after the assault on Joe Bell ten days ago. Strikebreakers are shunned by workers, and some have quit the city amid tensions. Much produced work goes to scrap as the firm bears higher costs from strikebreaker employment. Automobile dealers in Chattanooga oppose an eight hour day, calling the demand impracticable.
