Harvard physician Dr W Teving Clark warns more than 500000 American workers are exposed daily to silicosis, a fatal dust disease. A federal power commission report shows a steady rise in public ownership of electric plants since 1929, with 983 public and 3,027 private plants last year. Total 4,010 plants, vs 3,987 in 1934 and 4,040 in 1920 peak. public plants rose from 911 in 1929 to 983, while private plants dipped to 3,027 from 3,056 in 1934.

Wagner Opens Labor League Radio Series from Washington

United States Senator Robert F. Wagner of New York opened a weekly Labor Non-Partisan League radio series at 9 PM EST. The broadcasts will air on WOL in Washington WEVD in New York WIP in Philadelphia KQV in Pittsburgh and WCFL in Chicago. Wagner spoke from New York City where labor allies celebrated Roosevelt support. the next speaker is Harvey Flemming president of the Oil Field Gas Well and Refinery Workers.
