Arbitrator Grants 45-Hour Week for Milwaukee Printers

Milwaukee printer workers win a 45 hour week after arbitration led by Frank E. Baker chairing the board. Pittsburgh Coal Company Gunmen Freed After Murder Verdict

Three men employed by the Pittsburgh Coal Company were acquitted of murder in the killing of miner John Barcoski. The coroner ruled Barcoski was beaten and shot during a brawl. Judge James H. Gray barred jurors from service, calling them incompetent.

Toronto Ontario reports George W. Perkins president of the label trades department of the A F L declares confidence in the union movement after 50 years of activity. John J. Manning notes passage of the Cooper Hawes bill as the end of a 23 year struggle and urges harmonizing state laws with the federal statute for 1934. He criticizes Congress for only 400000 yearly for child welfare versus eight million for fruit fly eradication and reiterates support for national child labor amendment.

Trainmen Leader Seeks AFL-CIO Affiliation
