Carpenters U K Home Plan Alters Union Citizenship Rule
The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners adjourned a ten day convention in Indianapolis with 750 delegates. A new provision requires aliens who join the union to naturalize within five years or be dropped. The body backed sponsoring training with vocational schools, approved a Florida home for elderly members and a pension plan for older members, and set next quadrennial gathering in Lakeland near the union home. Delegates to AFL conventions were named.
