In St Louis, about 400 workers of Federal Barge Lines return to work after a September strike. Arbitration will decide wages after negotiations led by Major General T. Q. Ashburn of the Inland Waterways Corporation. The protestors, largely freight handlers and crane crew, sought 20 percent raises from 44 cents hourly and 26 days vacation. Unity in Ohio labor movement at Springfield convention
