Twenty five Groups Back Amendment to End Child Slavery
Twenty five organizations comprising the permanent conference for the abolition of child labor met at the American Federation of Labor building and urged congress to approve a constitutional amendment to limit or prohibit labor of persons under eighteen. Samuel Gompers led the discussion, noting rising child labor as a result of a voided net profits tax on employers. Copies of the amendment will be sent to all members of Congress.
