Outside laborers gain 42 cents an hour and contract miners about 6 dollars a day as miners push for broader coalfield raises amid prior fuel administration opposition.

Street car motormen and conductors on city and suburban lines celebrate a wage raise negotiated with the traction company. The new scale adds 10 cents per hour overall with tiered increases and overtime pay, effective for varied service lengths. The union credits strong organization for the settlement and warns against complacency as big employers seek further wage reductions.
