Cleveland Teamsters Reach New Wage and Hours Pact
The Cleveland Teamsters and Chauffeurs Local Union has negotiated a contract with the Retail Coal Dealers Board for Cuyahoga County. The deal sets 75 cents per hour or $1.50 a ton for coal drivers on driver owned basins, raises wages by 1.5 cents per hour, and includes yardmen previously unprotected with a 60 cent per hour minimum and time and a half for overtime. The schedule features an eight or six day week for seven months and a five day week for five months with overtime paid daily.
