Kentucky Operators Fight NRA Wage Scale
Louisville Kentucky. The NRA wage scale of 4.60 for a seven hour day in the Western Kentucky coal fields will be combatted in federal courts. J Van Norman attorney for the West Kentucky Coal Operators Association announced after a meeting of 60 mine owners. The operators contend the scale would be ruinous and would argue that the scale is arbitrary and confiscatory and would question the constitutional validity of government regulation of wages and hours.

In a forest near Dinslaken Rhineland four Duisburg trade union officials were found dead. The May 2 1933 Nazi raids on unions led to arrests seizures and bank seizure.
