Union Carpenters End California Bay District Strike
Union carpenters of the District Council ratified a settlement with the Industrial Association of the Bay region. The vote was 1 722 to 628 ending the strike. The agreement ends the material business on both sides of the Bay and abolishes the material permit system except where contractors refuse the 94 daily wage scale to carpenters.
