Workers Win Navy's High Praise For Epic Production of Landing Craft

Navy reports workers in 74 shipyards and 30,000 mills, foundries, and shops produced about 50 000 landing craft totaling 1 624 162 tons by early July 1944. June to May output surged from 66 289 to 197 901 tons. praise goes to Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company personnel and unions for extraordinary effort under Forrestal.
