Labor unions win music contract at Warner Bros theatres

Philadelphia unions report fresh victories with Local Union No. 77 forcing the return of live music in Warner Bros theatres after a September dispute. Santa Claus Boss Pays Debts for 76 Employees at Ambler Plant

J Harvey Gravell, president of American Chemical Paint Company, distributed about 100000 in Christmas gifts to 76 workers at Ambler. Each emnployee received a personal check to cancel debts from mortgages to hospital bills. Gravell says the gifts reflect loyalty and a fresh start under Roosevelt's New Deal.
