Philadelphia Labor College to Discuss Textiles as a Test

A two day conference in Kensington, Philadelphia April 27 28 will explore textiles as a community problem. Organizers include the Philadelphia Labor College United Textile Workers and the Philadelphia Textile District Council with speakers from government and academia.

Workers Education Bureau Convention Adopts Costly Reforms

Allen says no federal labor program. supports industrial court limits

Senator Henry J. Allen of Kansas, in a Wichita message April 2, rejects a federal labor program and cites the U S Supreme Court ruling ending state wage fixing. He recalls the Kansas industrial court sought wage scales during disputes and notes the ruling undermines this mechanism, signaling no need for federal action. The Kansas industrial court law sparked major debate with Governor Allen and Samuel Gompers.
