Boosters Club Plans Big Hamilton Improvements

Citizens' Boosters club met at the YMCA to map 31 committees covering Hamilton improvements. Committees focus on 22 streets, electric light, park grounds, barge canal, land for parks, school playgrounds and more with labor representation on all panels. Next meeting set for Monday at 7 pm.

Nolan Bomb Case Charges Dismissed in San Francisco

Edward D. Nolan, a defendant in the preparedness day bomb cases, had all charges dropped and his bail bonds returned. He faced accusations of making the device that killed 10 people and injured 40 on July 22.

Federal Judge Abschuler rules a 10 percent wage increase for all workers at five Chicago meat packing plants cites increased living costs since last March. Overtime becomes time and a half after eight hours starting March 2 1919 with weekly relief for seven day operations. Most workers are in unions including the Amalgamated Meat Catter and Butcher Workmen.

Michigan Socialists Reject Bolshevist Dictatorship Idea

At the Michigan Socialist state convention in Grand Rapids delegates rejected a bid to countenance forcible control by workers. The disputed resolution urged employing all methods to create a dictatorship of the proletariat but was toned down and adopted as advocating socializing and democratically managing production and distribution.
