District Council of Hallett met in October 1948 with Dr W G Miller chairing and all councillors present. Minutes of prior meeting read. correspondence covered demolish old hotel delay, labour shortage, road signs, petrol tax funding, and donations. Land transfers listed, assessments updated, and officers’ reports adopted. council declined purchase of truck despite offer to pay off.
