Heavy Rain and Flooding Struck Mt. Bryan East District
On Wednesday 28 October the district suffered very heavy rain with thunder and hail. At Eb Wilks's property 130 points fell in under thirty minutes, totaling 144 pants for the session. Dust Hole Creek carried floodwater and debris downstream, damaging fences and creating landowner repairs. Springtime conditions improved crops and pastures, with grasshoppers present in usual seasonal numbers. Emus and kangaroos have left the area as nesting and maternity periods approach.
