Wine Council Election Sees West Ward Seat Won by One Vote
Returning Officer Mr E R Davey counted votes for the West Ward vacancy with 40 votes each for Mesars W Carpenter and D Field on ordinary ballots. Woolly Sheep Fined 15 Pounds Over Shearing Delay
Raymond Clarke of Dunnstowh was fined 15 pounds by Bungaree police court for failing to shear his sheep during the shearing period from June 30, 1947 to March 31, 1948. He did not appear. Stock inspector A. Helin stated the flock had been told to shear, were infested and sold to Clarke in 1945, held in quarantine and unshorn for two years.
