Coronation Ball Draws Crowd at Burra Town Hall

The first unofficial Coronation Ball was held at Burra Town Hall to aid St. Joseph's Church. A £60 profit after expenses, festive red, white and blue decor, Australian flag, Union Jack, and a Queen Elizabeth I orb framed the event. Supper was varied and tasty, with Mary Preiss Tezecker Pauline Dowd and Mrs M Williams handling arrangements. Peter Murphy Tom Lynch led the organizing, P J Byrne sold tickets, Morris Williams kept the door, and the night closed at 1.30 am with a Medley and the National Anthem.
