Watch Tower Society Barred From Town Hall

Burra Town Council received a letter from Mr G. R. King on behalf of The Watch Tower Society requesting Town Hall hire to speak on God’s Kingdom on Earth. Cr Bevan moved to deny permission, supported by Cr Lee. Cr Baulderstone warned of harsh action, Cr Woollacott concurred. The council noted prior disturbances and that halls had been booked by private individuals then used by the Watch Tower Society. The motion was carried.

Town Council to Examine Agreement With Electric Supply Co.

At a Burrawn Council meeting Greevan discussed the death of a young boy by electrocution in Burra. He said the council should counsel the Burra Electric Supply Co. and ensure wires near premises are covered. He believed the agreement required all wires to be 12 feet from premises.
