The District Council of Burra Burra adopts the last previous assessment for all rateable property with local alterations. Assessments are open for inspection at the Burra District Office. Appeals hearing set for 9.20 a.m. Monday 4 October 1948. lodge appeals on prescribed form by noon Saturday 16 October at the District Clerk’s office.
The District Council of Burra Burra declares a general rate of three shillings in the pound on the district assessment for the year ending 30 June 1949. K. F. Crewes, District Clerk.
Burra Hospital announces urgent vacancies for Nurse Assistants with the same pay as trainees. Girls under 1 years may commence. For details contact the Matron or Secretary for further particulars.
The Burra Electric Supply Co Ltd announces a new office location on the ground Moor of Pearce's Building. From now on the office hours are Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
A Burra club announces formation of a committee and plans to open courts by December. They seek new members and donations to cover initial expenses, power, and maintenance. Membership is three guineas. a general meeting date will be published in the Burra Record. President J N McBride and others lead the committee.
Estate H C Doyle continues farming and grazing operations at Mount Bryan East and other sites under Audrey Rita Doyle and Alfred Willis. Elder's Trustee and Executor Company Limited, executor of H G Doyle's will, disclaims responsibility for debts from the business. Dated July 24 1988.
The Meeting will be held at the Town Hall on Friday August 20 at 2 29 p m. A play reading and general tea are planned for attendees.
