The Buffalo Loder held its annual ball on Friday evening August 7 at Burraws Hall. The event drew a moderate crowd with £49 in door takings. Mrs Preiss’s band supplied the music. decorations featured almond blossom gum leaves and red and gold streamers. Mr Heinrich the Prima of the Lodge officially opened the ball. Mr W. Preiss spoke in support. Winners of a novelty dance were Mr and Mrs Ray Lloyd. Early Saturday morning a buckboard driven by Donald Beauchamp of Princess Royal Station collided with a motor car driven by Mervyn Tram of Burra at Kangaroo Street and Commercial Road. A meeting is called at Hanson on Monday evening to form a Rural Youth Club for the village and surrounding district. Mr S. M. Brockman will convene with Mr P. Angove present to explain the movement. The display will feature slides and two club types for different age groups.
