Burra market woolly sheep strong as demand rises
Burra markets report very strong demand from South East Victoria and eastern districts for woolly sheep in good condition. At Elder’s Market 3000 wethers were sold amid large attendance and strong outside enquiry from Adenhope Naracoorte Millicent Penola and Adelaide buyers. Prices for woolly sheep rose while shorn sheep, especially in out of condition, moved more slowly. Top sales included a 26/2/32 head and a 5/1 9 head for Brae mar and Parcook respectively.

Ten Year Old Mother Robbed Bank With Baby
Mrs Helen Meeke aged 27 robbed a Fort Worth bank with her four month old son in the car. She threatened to harm the infant to force clerks to fill a paper bag with cash. Earlier in November she used a similar tactic and a blanket to conceal the money. The clerk refused and the infant was used as leverage.
