Residents enjoyed events like the All-Sports Banquet and school concerts while bluebonnet trails bloom along Hoover's Valley Road and around Bertram Lumber Co.
Burnet County sheriffs and city police warn of a dog poisoner loose in Burnet Bertram Briggs and Oakalla with reports of tainted sausage shaped bait. Tiger a German shepherd died from strychnine poisoning leading to a $500 reward posted by owner Carl Hibler. Authorities note penalties under Texas law and ongoing investigations with Humane Society and SPCA involvement.
Burnet County Commissioners discuss subdivision street responsibility with Meadowlake Company Marble Falls and state that county will not accept dedicated public streets not part of the county road system. They approve replacing resigned election officials and note statewide special election on April 22 for two Texas Constitution amendments.

The Home Insurance Co. Houston is designated servicing company.
The Burnet Easter egg hunt moves to Wallace Riddell Park on March 29 at 10 a.m. A larger crowd is expected as the Easter Rabbit attends. prizes include money, gift certificates, and an eight foot rabbit. Sponsors Dilbeck's KHLB The Burnet County Bulletin Cowboy Hangout Dairy Queen Ben Franklin Highland Lakes Florist Hoover Builders and Supply provide prizes and registration is at sponsor locations.
Motorists face a midnight April 1 deadline to display 1975 Texas plates. Law enforcement will stop noncompliant drivers to remind them of licensing duties. Since February 1 counties and substations continue normal registration business.
A correction clarifies that the sentence should read One other teacher was not recommended by the administration. The previous wording stated One other resignation is expected and one teacher was not recommended by teachers and coaches.
A Work Activity Center for the retarded opened in the old Burnet Junior High building after months at temporary sites. It will serve Burnet County residents not in school or employed with programs in socialization, recreation, pre vocational training, personal hygiene, and self help skills. Six to twelve participants are anticipated with a director funded by Travis State School, a non profit group relying on local support.
During the week of March 10 Shepperd Memorial Hospital underwent a full Joint Commission survey and received a clean bill of health. The two day inspection covered building safety patient care and emergency services with praise for high standards and up-to-date facilities including X ray and lab capabilities. Accreditation is voluntary and renewed biennially, and Shepperd has maintained the seal for 25 years.
