Aldermen questioned the timing and action, debating whether to call the school board to clarify and reverse the action.
Burnet County commissioners approved a local option election petition from 95 Bertram residents filed by Chester Pasek. 70 valid signatures were required. 90 were on the petition. Election set for July 9 at the American Legion Hall from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for Bertram residents within city limits.
Burnet city policeman Steven Moreno resigned again from the Burnet Police Department after criticizing city leadership and patrolling methods. He cited discontent with working conditions and stated he would seek opportunities elsewhere, signaling retirement from law enforcement.
