Residents discuss a mobile home park for Burnet citing housing costs while others fear in‑town placement. The Burnet county Fair and Rodeo Association seeks parade entries for July 30 31 with contact numbers for organizers.
A patriotic note dated June 14 1976 addresses readers about reverence for Old Glory and the flag. It recalls past parades and asks Americans to place a hand over the heart when the flag passes, honoring veterans from Anzio Guadacanal Korea and Vietnam and remembering those who died for the Republic. It is dedicated by the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 6974 Burnet Texas.
Bertram Mayor Kenneth Odiorne proclaims June 13 to 19 as Bertram Youth Baseball Week honoring the Bertram Little League and its volunteers led by Charles Barton and Arthur Felan. The declaration, dated June 8, 1976, calls for community recognition and observances.
Zimmerman notes 1974 set city records with 518 300 for residential and 756 000 for commercial building. 1975 totals so far are 514 000 and 471 000. This year includes Gibson's Discount Center tire store and paint factory in Marble Falls plus eight new single family homes.
A local official said construction in Marble Falls will begin this year and a multi family apartment project may come, boosting yearly totals beyond previous highs. Other retail expansions are likely as well while residential building trends rise steadily in the area.
