Body recovered from Lake Travis near Marble Falls
The body of a black male believed from outside Burnet Llano County was recovered from Lake Travis near Smithwick east of Marble Falls Tuesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A wallet keys and clothing were found Monday evening on the lake bank. Deputies warden and county officials searched for identification. The victim had reportedly gone for a swim before Monday around 1 30 p m. Fingerprints were taken at Clements Funeral Home for identification. No positive ID was available at press time.

Burnet Council Denies Warner Cable Rate Increase
Burnet Texas City Council rejected a 50 cent monthly rate hike proposed by Warner Cable TV. Council cited low subscriber growth, high costs, and impact on elderly residents, voting unanimously against the increase. A 50 cent raise had been approved previously in May 1975.
