Commissioners Agree To Pay For Grass Fire Calls
Burnet County Commissioners in regular session on Monday June 10 voted to contract with the City of Burnet to pay 100 per grass fire call made by the Burnet Volunteer Fire Department outside Burnet city limits. The contract will be prepared jointly by county and city attorneys.

Books Given in Memory of Ward Wilson to Burnet County Library
Mrs. Bessie Smith of San Antonio donated a large collection of more than 600 books in memory of her brother Ward Wilson to Burnet County Library. Wilson helped start the library and the Friends of the Library will catalog and distribute shelves and a portrait and a family clock accompany the gift. A. R. Wilson of Houston, Ward Wilson’s brother, also donated an 1883 clock to the Historical Society.

Immunization Clinic Set for June at Barnet Hospital
The monthly immunization clinic will be held Thursday June 20 from 10:00 am to 12 noon at the Shepperd Memorial Hospital rear entrance in Barnet. Haderlie to Speak at HCSW Conservation Awards Night
Van K. Haderlie deputy state conservationist for the U S Soil Conservation Service in Texas will headline the Hill Country Soil and Water Conservation Districts fourth annual Conservation Awards Program in Burnet on June 13 1974. The event at Highlander Inn starts at 730 pm. He previously served as assistant state conservationist for SCS in Nevada and began his career in 1954 as a soil scientist in Billings Montana rising to district and area conservationist roles. He earned a 1972 Master’s from the University of Montana and holds a B S from Utah State University, a Wyoming native.
