Granite Plant Secures 1 Million Dollar Contract

Capitol Marble and Granite Company of Austin with a Granite Shoals plant won a 1.08 million dollar contract to provide stone for expanding the Everett Dickson Senate Office Building in Washington. The firm bids placed last week were reportedly the lowest, with diamond pearl granite selected for the project. Stone will be quarried in Mason and fabricated at Granite Shoals before shipping to Washington. The job, one of the company’s largest, will keep the quarry in full operation all summer and will determine if current manpower suffices.
