The service is being provided by two funeral Homes that operate As private business enterprises and provide ambulance service As a Public service to the county without any form lights. Between the two firms they report a total of seven ambulance attendants although none have had extensive medical training and none Are paid As ambulance attendants. Quot a private county wide ambulance service will Cost Between 60 and $100,000,&Quot Walter Lockett of Granite Shoals said Quot but we can have an adequate ambulance service now if we have adequately trained volunteers to begin with. Besides it costs a lot less to train the analysis prepared by Capco listed four types of emergency medical service the first of which depends solely on volunteers and recommends that those volunteers have Between 20 and 50 hours of first Aid and emergency care training. The second level of service also depends on volunteers but the volunteers Are More extensively trained and can provide Basic life support services to sick and injured patients with the supervision of a physician. Paid paraprofessional personnel provide the same care As in the second level except that they Are paid solely to respond to emergencies in Capco s third level recommendation.
