Lewis r. Timberlake a native of Stamford will be the guest speaker at the banquet and 1977 chamber president Jerry Cozby will be officially inducted along with the other recently elected officers and directors. The outstanding citizen of 1977 and the outstanding chamber committee chairman will also be recognized at the ceremony. Tickets for the banquet can be purchased from the chamber of Commerce office at $7.50 per person. A committee of seven representatives of local clubs or organizations have been chosen to make the selection for the recipient of the outstanding citizen award. Taylor who has filled the unexpired term of Ken Warden since last april has indicated he will definitely run for reelection but Williams said she has not yet decided. In executive session the trustees decided to renew the contracts of principals Truett Mobley Kenneth Moore end Robert Shirley for two years. They also approved in $1,800 extra work Bonus for Mobley with trustee Al Zerm casting a negative vote. As High school principal Mobley has been receiving a $300 extra work Bonus and Hundley recommended that it be raised to $1 800 in keeping with amounts paid in other districts. In making his presentation to the Board Hundley said that Alta Shaeffer who was hired it tax assessor collector in september had asked that the firm not be hired until june because she Felt that she Cen collect a number of Back taxes in the six month period Shaeffer was appointed to the position in july to Complete the term of Leonard Storey when he resigned As tax assessor collector Hundley recommended that the firm be hired As soon As possible because of the Large backlog of delinquent taxes going Back several years at the dec. 6 meeting of the Board attorney Gates Steen explained his firm s operation and said they could raise the tax collection rate to Over 96 per cent for a fee of 15 per cent of All delinquent taxes collected.
