Marble Falls School Board Extends AD Kolacek Contract

Marble Falls School Board voted to extend Athletic Director John Kolacek’s contract for 1977-78, keep two half-time administrative assistants, and accept transfer students for 1976-77. The board also approved starting driver training with a $350 seed, expects 70 students to finish before fall, and plans a $45 student fee to cover teacher and running costs.

Bertram Council Passes Ice Box Latch Ordinance

Hullum Enters Burnet County Sheriff Race

Burnet business man and former law officer R C Hullum joins the Democratic primary race for Burnet County Sheriff on May 1. Incumbent Wallace Riddell has held the post 37 years, with Cecil J Rhoades Jr of Marble Falls also running. Hullum, 48, is a Burnet County native and son of Alpha Hullum Littlefield and the late Raymond Hullum, a former law enforcer.

Burnet Council rejects LCRA surcharge plan 3-2 vote

Burnet Texas city council votes 3 to 2 against paying a 17 428 dollar LCRA surcharge which would have added 1 7 mil to electric bills. LCRA may bill full amount after a six month period ending May 1 and could seek court collection if unpaid.
