Marble Falls board to discuss coach future and elections

Marble Falls school trustees will meet at 7 30 p m Thursday Jan 13 in the high school annex to discuss coach Kolacek s future in executive session while denying decisions have been made. The board will also order a school board election for two seats and consider hiring a delinquent tax attorney to raise tax collections.

Ex-Deputy Humphreys Rehired in Burnet County

Former Burnet County Sheriff’s Deputy George Humphreys, now in Houston, is hired to replace Jim Parker who left December 30. Sheriff Wallace Riddell says Humphreys will start January 15 and may be sworn in January 14 or 15.

Annexation Hearing Marks City Move Toward Industrial Park

Burnet City Council schedules a public hearing Tuesday at 7 30 p m on annexing a half mile strip along Hwy 281 and the 101 acre Burnet Industrial Park A first step toward extending city limits only one half mile tracts can be annexed at a time with two more petitions likely before the park joins the city limits Also radio station KHLB's Harry Ravnd asks the city to offer burglar alarm service for merchants with 24 hour monitoring and city maintenance support per state licensing rules

Arson Charges Filed in Burnet Woman Case

Arson charges were filed on January 7 in Justice of the Peace Chester Kinchloe's court against Dorothy Wyatt Casey of Burnet over the October 20 house fire at 202 West Taggard. Burnet County Investigator Rum 4 and Officer Roger Holland led the investigation with Austin Fire Marshal Don Hicks assisting. Casey was released late.

Bertram City Council weighs marshal search and other items

Bertram officials meet at 7 p m to discuss financing a city marshal after Frank Hines resignation. A Lone Star Gas rate request and plans to buy a backhoe and renovate the old school building are on the short agenda. Barbera Petkovsky will discuss hospital insurance for city employees.
