Burnet County Library may receive 218000 grant
A 218000 grant for the Burnet County Free Library may be approved if the building is named in honor of Herman Brown. Merrit Warner of the Brown Foundation signaled the grant contingent on the naming. Letters seeking support were sent in December 1976 by Mrs. Willie Mae Price and Judge Pogue. Cont. on Page 6A.

San Antonio man crashes rented plane on Sunrise Beach
Thomas R. Fuller of San Antonio and passenger Miss Flynn Damron crash landed a rented Cessna 150 at Sunrise Beach. The aircraft was demolished with no injuries reported after a northward landing with tailwind. FAA investigators will review the incident.

KHLB Radio Station Burns in Burnet Blaze
Smoke and flames gutted the KHLB radio station in Burnet damaging transmitters and tape tracks. No injuries reported. damage exceeds 40000 dollars. Firefighters entered a charred interior after chopping ceiling sections to extinguish the fire, with cause under investigation. Temporary operations and mobile service backup were arranged soon after.

With the filing deadline two weeks away only two candidates have signed up for the April 3 Burnet School Board election. Robert S. Norman seeks Place 3 and Barbara Petkovsky seeks Place 5 while Place 1 currently held by E B Price has no filed candidate.
