The Burnet County Free Library Building Fund has raised 31,170.25 dollars from MAURINE GOODRICH's 30,000 donation and 1,000 from the J Frank Dobie Estate plus 170.25 from many small contributors. Beginning September 2 1975 the Department of Public Safety expands driver’s license service in Burnet with Trooper John Ferguson as examiner at the Burnet County Courthouse on Wednesday and Thursday hours 8 a m to noon and 1 to 5 p m Shirley Boyd DPS Clerk assists at the commissioners court room on second and fourth Friday mornings. Examinations also offered in Marble Falls Tuesdays 8 30 a m to noon and 1 to 5 p m at the public library corner Fourth and Main Streets. in Lampasas Mondays 9 a m to noon and 1 to 5 p m at the DPS building on Highway 281 plus third and fifth Fridays 9 a m to noon and 1 to 5 p m. Ferguson will visit other towns as time allows and Johnny Duncan and David Lawrence will service in local areas. Ferguson plans to settle in Burnet with his wife Darla and two sons.
