Burnet marksman Jerry Newton Captures Class D Trap Title

Jerry Newton of Burnet earned the 1975 Aqua Festival Trap Shoot Class D Championship with 97 of 100 targets at the Austin Gun Club event. Teammate James Rusworth tied for high in Class B with 97. Grand Champion was William Teale at 98. The Burnet County Trap Championship is set for August 24 at Burnet Gun Club Trap Range starting 2:00 pm.

Burnet Consolidated Independent School District schedules August 22 from 9:00 to 12:00 for elementary registration. Parents must present birth certificates and immunization records for polio diphtheria pertussis tetanus measles and rubella. Burnet County Commissioners Review Clinic Reports and Grants

Burnet County commissioners approved all reports and bills in the morning session on August 11. In the afternoon Elane Clark reported that the Mental Health Clinic July patient load rose from 31 to 51 with 18 new referrals and three committed to Austin State Hospital. Open house attendance reached 76, and items like bookcases and lamps are still needed.
