At Industrial Park Burget a after weeks of Ai and preparations the City is ready for today s 4 . Kick off of the 5th annual Texas of time fiddlers festival at Industrial Park. The three Days of activities will Center around the selection of the Champion fiddler and will also see the awarding of honors to the Best old time accompanist oldest fiddler and youngest fiddler. But As if the whine and whistle s3�a?#lyi in of the fiddles weren t enough fair rides for the kids the dunking machine and Moon walk will be among the entertainments to add a carnival flavor. Concession Booths will also Dot the grounds of the Industrial Park As Barbecue and cold drinks Sno Cones and Candy Are made available to All those attending the festival and contest at 1 . Friday the festival will go into its second Day of competitive musicianship and on saturday the last Day of judging will Start Early at 8 a.m., and by Nightfall the judges should have selected their champions. Saturday night after the final judging a dance will be held at the Luther ranch. Coldspring will provide the music for the closing night s Jamboree and hoedown with tickets Selling for $2.50 per person. Terry Morris of Decatur has won the title of Champion old time fiddler for three years running and he s expected Back this year to defend his Crown. A Cash prize is offered for the championship. A Flea Market arts and crafts novelties a Pony ride and fun in general Are being added for spice to what already promises to be pretty Lively times All of it sponsored by the Burnet chamber of Commerce. The thursday Competition will concentrate on old timers 70 years old and older and the Junior division 12 and under while Friday will see two rounds of contest elimination. Saturday will be dedicated to the championship play offs the accompanist contest and the trick and fancy fiddling contest which will be judged by the audience. Mrs. June Mcgilvray Secretary to county attorney Gene Stratton presented the request for the Law books while Stratton is on vacation awaiting her turn to speak with smelling salts in hand. The commissioners gave mrs. Mcgilvray the go ahead to Price the controversial dictation equipment which served last month As the catalyst for a heated argument Between Stratton and the commissioners.
