Poultry Notes From Nebraska Farmers

Domesticated and wild birds are prone to coccidiosis and disease outbreaks must be prevented. Well preserved eggs stay usable six to ten months. Male bird fighting risks serious harm. Farm geese enjoy water but graze on land until they reach New Year’s feast status. Provide coarse sand to chicks by ten days old and switch to coarser grit later.
