Induction Calls and Fifth Registration Set for June 30
A call for 65 men to be inducted soon follows a prior call for 39, totaling 104 for the month. The Fifth Registration will be held June 30 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for men born 1922 through 1924, with about 450 expected to register. The Local Board notes occupational forms will be delayed due to heavy workload.

Funeral Held for Mrs H I Skaare at Rake Church
Funeral services for Mrs H I Skaare 74 died at her home northeast of here were held Tuesday at Zion Lutheran church Rake conducted by Rev S C Sorlein. Interment in West Zion cemetery. Survived by husband two sons John of Rake Henry of Buffalo Center three daughters Clara at home Mrs Otto Sheldon Forest City Mrs J E Collins Buffalo Center plus 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also noted long obituary of Johanna Frey nee Futh born 1851 died 1942 with ties to Grundy County and Parkersburg. Second funeral held at Baptist church last Thursday for Jo Frey family note.

Miss Virginia Dolmage of Buffalo Center Iowa a College of St. Catherine senior earns Phi Beta Kappa and Kappa Gamma Pi honors and ranked among six top seniors chosen for St Paul Court of Honor She will receive bachelor of arts degrees in music and French on June 8 Also active as president of the Music Club and member of Language Arts Club She performed Grieg concerto with Minnesota WPA Symphony at the college on April 16.

Light Vote Cast in Winnebago County Primary
In Winnebago County a light turnout marked the primary with 2550 Republican and 503 Democratic votes. Gov. Geo. A. Wilson won the GOP Senate nomination while Herring secured the Democratic banner for the general election. Other state races saw Hickenlooper defeat Kraschel for governor, and Johnston won sheriff.
