A Mo-At aewave Inc. plane from Mason City forced down on Alfred Wingen farm north of Woden amid a Saturday storm. It landed in an oats field, tipped onto its back, one wing damaged, pilot uninjured. Sheriff guarded the wreck until dismantled and hauled to Mason City. Funeral Services For Mrs Gus Raake Held Thursday
Funeral services for Elsie Miller Raake were held at her home and the Methodist church with Rev. Elmer R. Peterson in charge. Interment was in Olena Mound cemetery. Born July 12, 1873 in Germany, she died June 28, 1947 at age 73 11. She married Gustav Raake on December 23, 1894. Gas Transport Fire Near Lighthouse Station
Clear Lake volunteer firefighters were called at 3 a m Thursday to douse a blaze in the cab of Guy Wessels gas transport truck parked near the lighthouse station on West Division Street. The cab was largely destroyed with no explosion due to an empty tank. Origin of the fire remains unknown.

Alvin Hofbauer son of Mr and Mrs Henry Hofbauer is in Park hospital Mason City with injuries to his right leg. He was helping uncle George Hofbauer bale hay on Tuesday July 1 when his leg was drawn into the baler up to the knee. The engine was reversed and he was freed by his uncle. He was taken to Dalmage hospital for first aid and then to Park hospital where doctors say he suffered two broken bones in his foot and injuries to his leg. The accident occurred about 5 30 p m.
