Bison Cagers to Meet Britt Dec 7

The 1948 49 Bison cage team opens North Iowa Conference play on Tuesday December 7 when they host the invading Britt five. The Hancock five is rated among the top in the conference and the outcome will signal Buffalo Center fans what to expect this season. The team also plays at Rake December 3 in a non conference test.

Leibrand and Underbakke Wed in Rake Iowa

Miss Muriel Loraine Underbakke and Elmer Leibrand wed at Liberty Lutheran church Rake Iowa on Thanksgiving Day November 25 at 6 pm. Rev G O Wanberg officiated with a double ring service in presence of relatives. A three course dinner followed for 23 guests at Hotel Albert in Albert Lea Minnesota. The bride and groom plan to live in Buffalo Center Iowa where he works as a stock buyer and trucker.

Buffalo 4-H Meeting for Boys and Girls in December

A special Buffalo 4-H meeting will be held at the Irwin Berryhill home Monday evening December 6 at 7 20. Plans for the new year will be discussed and organized. All current and new members planning a livestock project are urged to attend with their fathers, and newcomers interested in starting a livestock project are especially invited.

Home from Hospital and New Baby Born

Mr Raymond Steenblock returned home last Wednesday from Rochester Minnesota after five weeks as a patient. A Tuesday checkup in Rochester reports his hand healing well. Mr and Mrs Knut Herem welcomed a daughter weighing 6 pounds 13 ounces at Naeve Hospital Albert Lea Minnesota last Sunday morning, named Arlys May.

Kent Winter of the Bi on football team earned a first team left end honor in the North Iowa Conference. Teammates Schuler and Huisman received honorable mention. The Ladies Literary Circle met November 23 at Mrs Albert Sieper Jr’s home. Reports covered the Sixth District convention in Denison and County Board meeting in Buffalo Center. The program focused on Indians of the Southwest with Navajo life and arts discussed. Forest City 4-H elects Heyer president at banquet

The largest 4-H banquet in years was held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City. Harvey Heyer was elected president with Robert Thompson as vice president, Richard Johnson as secretary treasurer, and Vernon Vald as reporter.
