Forest Plaza Assisted Living in Forest City will celebrate National Assisted Living Week and its 15th anniversary this September with two events. The craft sale runs Saturday Sept 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A 15th anniversary barbecue and block party is set for Friday Sept 16 at 3 p.m. The week honors tenants, caregivers, families, friends and volunteers in the community.

Monarch Tagging Program At Thorpe Park Friday

Operation ReLeaf offers ten tree varieties this year
Winnebago County Conservation Board partners with Alliant Energy and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to host Operation ReLeaf. Ten species including hackberry, swamp white oak, river birch, cucumber tree magnolia, and edible plum varieties will be sold for 25 dollars each, with a 5 to 8 foot height and a two-tree limit per person.
