Funeral services for Andrew Madison Gilbert were held at the Dolmage hospital and Methodist church after his death on August 17 1950 at Buffalo Center Iowa. He born February 7 1874 in Buckley Illinois moved to Buffalo Center in 1902 with his family and retired to town in 1943. He was active in church and community life leaving a wife Mary and three children Grace Mildred Harvey. Grandchildren and many relatives attended with many out of town relatives listed. Interment was in Graceland cemetery.

Woden Girl Killed In Road Crash Near Woden
Miss Wilma Isebrand twenty one of Woden died of injuries from a car leaving a gravel road and overturning a culvert while traveling about seventy miles per hour. Clarence Peterson of Kanawha, the car owner, survived with minor injuries and called for help. She had taught rural school near Forest City and later helped at her parents hardware store in Woden. She is survived by her parents, a brother, a sister and grandparents in Woden and Titonka. The driver and passenger were returning from Britt when the accident occurred.

Cars Collide Injuring Three Near Dolmage Hospital
Monday afternoon Ed Yahnke parked on the south shoulder of highway No 9 and after stepping into his Ford started to turn. A 1948 Dodge driven by Owen Berhow of Elmore Minnesota, with his wife, collided on the cement. All three occupants were taken to Dolmage hospital with minor injuries.

Pontiac Backfires During Workshop Blaze
A 1936 Pontiac backfired while Vernon Hogard tried to prime the carburetor, igniting gas on the chassis and causing a fire at the rear of a blacksmith shop. Hogard suffered minor burns. the car was badly damaged before firefighters stopped the blaze.

Gets 30 Days in Jail On Assault Charge
James Munhollen of Scarville was tried in Emory J. Oleson's court Monday morning for assault and received 30 days in jail. The complaint was filed by Eric Brudvig of Scarville Carl Clasen of Forest City and Alfred Leslein of Palo Alto County were taken into Forest City Saturday evening and brought before Judge Oles on Monday afternoon charged with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated. All were bound over to the grand jury on $500 bond. Leslein was picked up by the Forest City constable and Sheriff Monson took Clasen after involvement in a minor accident.

Returns From Trip Through the West
Mr and Mrs Oscar Johnson Robert and Larry Johnson completed a 10 day motor journey covering about 2900 miles. They visited the Black Hills Dakota Bad Lands Yellowstone Park Idaho the Big Horn Mountains Salt Lake City and crossed the Missouri at Sioux City on the way home. They reported good driving and pleasant weather making the trip highly enjoyable.
