He resigns as State Superintendent of Public Instruction and will receive a top Texas salary. Bralley succeeds W B Bizzell who moves to the Agricultural and Mechanical College.
The British minister Sir Lionel Carden says anarchy exists in Mexico and it is a shame the United States withdraws from Vera Cruz. The U S troops were ordered to depart and will be brought home as transports permit. Only a patrol of small vessels will remain off Mexican waters.
