L. W. Squires of Hearne and his wife were injured in an early morning automobile accident on the Hearne road and taken to Bryan Hospital. He suffered a badly injured shoulder while she was not seriously hurt.
Miss Mary Fraps daughter of Professor and Mrs G S Fraps of A and M College will leave Friday for Urbana to enroll in a library course at the University of Illinois. She is a former University of Texas student and a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. The Illinois course is noted as among the best in the United States.

Vernon, Sept. 12. A jury here last night found B. F. Owens guilty of slaying F. L. Hughes with hammer blows in the Owens home. A five year sentence in the penitentiary was assessed.
