Poultry Rising Urged to Boost Nation Meat Supply

The Southern section of the American Poultry Instructors and Investigators association meeting at Texas A and M college adopted a resolution urging immediate action to increase meat food supply. It calls for southern agricultural interests to expand poultry production, cull non-producers, improve feeding and management, and eradicate parasites, with local guidance available from state agricultural colleges or experiment stations.

Weather forecast by Willis Moore and W F Carothers outlines two major movements. Movement 6-Due September 10 brings showers in the west and middle regions with frosts in the Rockies and cooler overall temperatures. Movement K-Due September 14 brings freezing in the northwest and frosts across a wide area with cooler nationwide conditions. Southern Texas sees fair weather early in the week followed by showers midweek in advance of the K movement and a northerly front bringing clearing and cooler air by Friday and Saturday.
